Tug of war is a great little add on to any lesson where students form an opinion, or play devils advocate. Only requirement is post-it notes

Similar to the classic "Think Pair Share" student write our their ideas on a sticky, come together in groups of 4, and then together word the best answer.

Here is a great poster, that indicates to students in what manner they are learning. A timer might work well with this aswell!

Go check out Ms. Elst ladder of success in her classroom. Its a constant reminder for students to stay focused, and keep themselves in line! Ask her how it has worked in her class!
